Retro in my heart, dancefloor in my blood
CHRIS NITRO, aka Christoph Werner, has been passionate about electronic music since his youth. At just 15, he began mixing his own tracks in the mid-’90s—a period whose sound continues to shape him to this day. Since 2003, he has been part of the electronic radio station SUNSHINE LIVE, where he gained many years of experience in events, booking and radio.
In 2013, he developed the idea for “SUNSHINE LIVE – DIE 90ER LIVE ON STAGE”, one of Germany’s major indoor event series dedicated to the ’90s. Since 2016, he has hosted the “Back 2 the 90s” show on SUNSHINE LIVE; since 2021, he has also been on air with “SUNSHINE LIVE Motors”.
As a DJ, CHRIS NITRO combines his passion for the sound of the ’90s with modern productions. Eurodance, dance classics, house and progressive house meet contemporary tracks featuring retro vocals and familiar hooks in his sets. For him, the focus is not on rigidly playing a playlist, but on responding directly to the crowd and the energy of the dancefloor.
CHRIS NITRO is also active as a producer. His more recent releases include “It's A Dream” with Aquagen and “Celebrate (The Love)” together with Aquagen and Zhi-Vago. In this way, he consistently brings the sound and euphoria of the classic dance era into the present.
