Eric SSL
SUNSHINE-LIVE veteran with decades of club history
Eric SSL, aka Eric Wust, is a DJ, producer and presenter who has been a fixture in Germany’s electronic music scene for several decades. He was already there as a presenter and DJ on June 20, 1997, the very first day of broadcasting for SUNSHINE LIVE. To this day, he can regularly be heard on the station, presenting formats including the Community Show, Special Squad and SUNSHINE LIVE Classics.
Eric SSL has also long secured his place in German club and festival history behind the turntables. Regular appearances on the classic main floors at Nature One and Mayday, along with numerous club shows throughout Germany, have made him one of the best-known DJs associated with SUNSHINE LIVE.
Musically, Eric SSL draws on an enormous range of influences. From New Wave, Eurodance and Trance to Electro House, Tech House and Techno, he has followed the evolution of electronic club music across several decades. Today, he combines technoid, driving sounds with his passion for electronic classics. Eric SSL has also been active as a producer and remixer since the late 1990s. The name “SSL” does not stand for SUNSHINE LIVE, but for “schnell, sauber, laut” (“fast, clean, loud”).
Among his best-known productions and remixes is “You Got The Love”, created together with Bootmasters and Candi Staton. Eric SSL has remained active as a producer in more recent years as well: 2025 saw the release of the Techno production “Dark Horizon”, the Hard Trance track “Algarve” and “Concentrat”.
Eric SSL represents an electronic music history that is not confined to the archives, but continues to live on in clubs, at festivals and on the radio to this day.
